ImageNest is printing software that runs exclusively on OSX and is used primarily to layout Images, layout Photos, and to Batch print them all at the same time. Batch printing simply is a way of putting a group of images on a single piece of paper in order to maximize media usage. The primary interface of ImageNest is that of a Mac Layout program that allows users to easily resize and edit their images before printing.
The Image Layout or Photo Layout dialog is the primary interface but the image processing component of ImageNest is a software RIP. RIP simply stands for (Raster Image Processor) and was developed to allow inkjet users to Process vector and text based files without loss of resolution. Vector and text files (PDF, EPS, Adobe Illustrator, PostScript®) are files in which the images are based on vector math drawings that can be scaled to any size without any loss of resolution. Without a PostScript RIP vector files will not maintain their full resolution and text and drawings will not be sharp. This was the original purpose of a RIP but since its inception RIP’s have evolved way past simply processing vector files and can now offer a wide range of features. Photographers will often ask “why do I need a software RIP, I am not printing vector files”.
That is true, but RIP software Packages have become workflow and productivity tools that now often cater directly to photographers. The postscript processing Aspect of RIP’s is just an added bonus. As a Photo RIP, ImageNest has several features that are primarily for photographers such as our DNG printing and Picture layout. As a Mac RIP we can also process every single major format available including HDR (High Dynamic Range) and Camera RAW files. Currently ImageNest is the only Mac OSX RIP that can Extract the embedded (and corrected) JPEG files from DNGs. One aspect of ImageNest you will not see in other products is our broad printers support.imagenes cristianas.
